First Steps Nursery is a 36 place day nursery registered for children from birth. The lower nursery cares for children from birth to two years, with a cosy sleep room. The room is light and inviting with furniture and toys especially for this age group. The caring and dedicated staff are sensitive to parents/carers who are leaving their very young children, often for the first time.

The upper nursery is for children aged 2 - 8 years and offers exciting and stimulating activities, as well as comfy cushions in the book corner for relaxing at the end of the day. There is also a secure outside play area with a summer house and a wide choice of toys, as well as window boxes and sensory equipment.

Parents/carers are encouraged to come and visit, whether it be to look around or to have a chat whilst their children play. There is always someone to talk to if they need to ask advice or if they have any concerns and worries.

The Nursery offers full day care and sessional care - weekdays from 8.00 am to 6 pm. We offer funded sessions for 3 and 4 yr olds in the mornings 9.15 to 11.45 am Monday to Friday with support from a qualified teacher. It also offers wrap around care for children of age range 3 - 7 years old with collection from and delivery to local primary schools

Healthy Eating

A healthy snack is offered mid morning and mid afternoon with a choice of milk or water to drink.

The nurseries are proud of their healthy eating policy. Biscuits are off the menu with lots of fresh fruit and healthier savoury snacks being offered instead. A hot two course lunch can be provided.

How much does it cost?

A hot lunch can be provided for an extra charge of £1.55 per meal (order in advance) - or bring your own packed lunch.
